lowdrive: I'm just glad they won to pull you out of the depression spiral you were heading down.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 8:28:28 PM

notko1: I hope Drew Remenda gave Marleau a kiss after the game and told him it would be alright. They are so ridiculous, it's such bullshit that NBC pulls this because it's a Comcast broadcast. They don't do this with Flyers broadcasts. I forgot Bret Hedican doesn't do road games. Kristi Yamaguchi must not let him travel more than 30 miles from home.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 8:25:49 PM

kingleberry: Yeah the things him and Kopitar could do with time, if he wants to take a big discount to stay i'm totally down for him to stick around another year

ian22: 46.22 Fines and Suspensions – Instigator in Final Five Minutes of Regulation Time (or Anytime in Overtime) - A player who is deemed to be the instigator of an altercation in the final five (5) minutes of regulation time or at anytime in overtime (see 46.12) shall be suspended for one game, pending a review of the incident. When the one-game suspension is imposed, the Coach shall be fined $10,000 – a fine that will double for each subsequent incident. The suspension shall be served unless, upon review of the incident, the Director of Hockey Operations, at his discretion, deems the incident is not related to the score, previous incidents in the game or prior games, retaliatory in nature, “message sending”, etc. The length of suspension will double for each subsequent offense. This suspension shall be served in addition to any other automatic suspensions a player may incur for an accumulation of three or more instigator penalties. No team appeals will be permitted either verbally or in writing regarding the assessment of this automatic suspension as all incidents are reviewed by the Director of Hockey Operations as outlined above. www.nhl.com

stephan: At least some pride back!!!
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 7:43:25 PM

nobska: Ha! Maybe it's better now...seems like it's growing a lot, but it's been years since I've been up there other than driving through.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 7:28:25 PM

kingleberry: SJ giving life to the wrong team
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 7:26:52 PM

stephan: So we win this last stupid OT game and it would freakin tied!!
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 7:26:45 PM

norcojim: All we need is "One More Like This"!!!
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 7:26:26 PM

nobska: Ah, well it a makes sense now. I guess if you have to go up to the Couv having the Heathman to return to makes it better. Too bad the weather has been so terrible, but at least she'll be happy to return to AZ sunshine.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 7:19:27 PM

norcojim: Stoll has got to stop taking stupid penalties!
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 7:08:52 PM

azking: At least we won't be swept. Small victories
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 7:08:26 PM

stephan: Stuart is the softest d man ever
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 7:08:22 PM

nobska: Not even asking how you might distract yourself. ;-) That's my neck of the woods, although I wouldn't voluntarily go to Vancouver, WA.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 7:05:32 PM

schroeder2: Okay then! My wife is in Vancouver WA this week...so I guess I'll just distract myself too;-)
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 6:56:17 PM

nobska: Well I'm not changing what I'm doing now, they're winning. I'm too superstitious.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 6:47:53 PM

Smyttie: I'm thinking that Gaborik guy might just be a keeper. Possibly.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 6:44:04 PM

vbing: Hmm, I guess it's TT's birthday today. Ice cream for everyone!
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 6:42:13 PM

vbing: And this ... Rule 76: When stoppage occurs between the end face-off spots and near end of the rink, the puck shall be faced-off at the end face-off spot on the side where the stoppage occurs unless otherwise expressly provided by these rules.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 6:35:10 PM

vbing: 72.2 Hand Pass – When a hand pass has been initiated by one player to a teammate and the teammate elects not to play the puck to avoid the stoppage of play, and the opposing team also abstains from playing the puck (perhaps to allow time to expire on a penalty), the Referee shall stop the play and order the resulting face-off at the nearest face-off location to where the play was stopped for this violation.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 6:31:14 PM

vbing: Lewis hesitated before he touched the puck. He knew what he was doing. I just have to assume the official told him he had to move the puck.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 6:29:16 PM

Elsu: Take a hard look @ the Kings now! What a fighter team!
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 6:27:47 PM

esaki: God Williams is just the best.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 6:17:49 PM

esaki: These announcers I swear
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 6:02:39 PM

stephan: Soft fucking goals
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 6:00:12 PM

esaki: Whenever the chips are down, and the breaks are running against you, you can always count on Raffi Torres taking a ridiculous boarding penalty in his offensive zone.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 5:50:11 PM

schroeder2: 17 shots against in the first... Try harder to get me that bong!!!
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 5:47:43 PM

kingleberry: Dude better be careful where he points that otherwise he. Might get high sticker from behind ;)
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 5:36:54 PM

esaki: They aren't going to give a offensive zone faceoff on a power play when the guy commits a hand pass. Don't be contrarian.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 5:34:44 PM

stephan: Yeah demoralizing
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 5:31:26 PM

norcojim: I think we are looking at a tired hockey team. We are lucky to be tied!
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 5:31:23 PM

naturallawyer: Another bad bounce. Wasted a whole lot of effort, tied again and SJ will probably dominate the second period again.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 5:30:59 PM

stephan: vV has been battling the puck a lot in the D zone
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 5:28:52 PM

kingleberry: Well, that was almost a great period by the Kings. You know, except for the goal they let in with 10 seconds left
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 5:28:11 PM

esaki: No way. You don't punish the non-offending team there. They would've blown the whistle if he hadn't played it, but the faceoff would have come out. Total brain lock.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 5:16:50 PM

vbing: I thought the same thing but it is possible that the ref told him yo play it. They probably would put the faceoff back in the Kings zone if he didn't touch it anyways.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 5:07:44 PM

esaki: How fucking stupid do you have to be to not realize that was a hand pass and you'd get a faceoff outside of the zone? Who was the idiot on that, Brown or Lewis? Good grief.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 4:59:00 PM

stephan: This year's game intro at staples was the best one so far and opened my heart big time.. video.kings.nhl.com
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 4:33:27 PM

ericd: Whatever... But its agreed that we need a good stay at home defenseman...
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 4:24:20 PM

esaki: Karlsson is probably the worst defensive defenseman in hockey. He makes Mike Green look like Chris Pronger.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 2:18:23 PM

vbing: Once again, those are all offensive dmen. We already have DD, Muzz, Voynov. We need tough defensive guys, not a guy like Karlsson who is great on the offense, but plays smaller than Voynov in his own end (although I have to say that I was impressed by Voynov's toughness in the last game). it was interesting to hear on Sirius that the Kings have young dmen and old dmen - they need a guy in the middle. It's also interesting to note that the offensive guys are the young ones and the defensive guys are the old guys. Is it any wonder we are giving up a million goals to the Sharks?
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 2:08:46 PM

Grinder: Williams has been awful with seemingly more turnovers than normal. Couple that with his slow backcheck and he was due for a demotion. Is Brown going to step up tonight at his natural position? I hope so.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 1:56:28 PM

schroeder2: Spewed fluid...ericd...you have a way with words!! And I'm wondering if you meant spliffy? Don't bogart that joint my friend:-)
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 1:46:00 PM

ericd: What do you make of this?... lakingsinsider.com
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 11:54:13 AM

ericd: Well... for starters each of these guys is pulling a regular NHL shift, which is more than you can say for Tuebert... and are you telling me you wouldn't want Karlsson? IIRC he has been in Norris discussions reasonably recently, and looking at his stats it seems he is an OK defender... I think Carlson is fairly solid as well... DelZotto OK he is up and down but even if we had Carlson/Del Zotto they could be trade chips...
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 11:50:48 AM

azking: Brown would fetch us a good return. I doubt that he becomes more than what he is which is a 2nd-3rd line guy. He doesn't show up enough for me to be a Captain.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 11:38:57 AM

lowdrive: Not to mention relying on Matt Greene who may be great in the room but is slow as fuck and sitting Martinez who generates offense every game he plays.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 10:25:29 AM

5-Hole: yeah...trying to keep the team together after winning the Cup was OK, but trying to do it for a second year was a mistake. they should have had a top-6 spot for Toffoli, rather than play with his confidence by sending him down, moving him around different lines, scratching him etc. He really hasn't progressed much from last year, but if he had been playing all season I think he would be confident and be playing well. (as it was he outplayed both Richards and Brown)

Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 8:29:12 AM

esaki: Well, my Cubs suck, my Kings are going to get swept tonight, and the stupid ass grannymuggers are going to win the EPL. Nice 2014 so far.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 8:20:17 AM

ian22: Kopitar named Selke finalist along with Bergeron and Toews. www.nhl.com
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 7:43:03 AM

azking: This team needs to get younger and hungrier at the top. One good Dman who plays tough stay at home is critical for this team philosophy. I would overpay for that.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 6:58:35 AM

Smyttie: I agree that the Kings are not playing good D; but they also need higher QUALITY offense. With Brown and Richards playing like crap, and the rookies not truly top-6 worthy yet, that leaves the Kings with 4 top 6 forwards, at most. It could be argued that Williams is trailing off as well.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 6:25:19 AM

vbing: Why, the Kings have no use for more offensive dmen, they need some guys that can man up and play tough defense. They aren't behind because of a lack of offence, it's because they aren't playing good d.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 4:53:31 AM

azking: I like what Helene Elliot said in her column yesterday because some of it was said here. The Kings essentially did nothing to get better last Summer while all the teams around us did a lot. Here are the fruits of your lazy Summer, Dean. She also said this team is basically stale and needs an overhaul. If the Kings are going to be more than a one-year wonder, they need to make some bold moves over the Summer instead of sitting around. Our competition will be working. Being content is death in sports.
Thursday Apr 24, 2014 - 4:31:36 AM

naturallawyer: Just noting that the "1" in 13-1 is the Kings. :-(
