Jason Allison and Bryan Smolinski are tied for first in game-tying
goals (2; no change from December).

Jaroslav Modry is tied for 24th in assists (up from 25th in
December).

Among defensemen, Modry is ninth in overall scoring (up from tenth in
December),  and is sixth in assists (down from fourth in December).

Craig Johnson is tied for 16th in plus/minus (up from 25th in
December).

Ian Laperriere is 25th in penalty minutes (up from 29th in December),
and is 25th in hits (not ranked in December).

Steve Heinze is tied for 12th in power play goals (8; down from
eighth in December).

Mathieu Schneider is tied for 17th in defenseman power play goals (2;
not ranked in December).

Aaron Miller is tied for tenth in defenseman game-winning goals (2;
not ranked in December).

Among defensemen, Boucher is tied for 21st in overall scoring (no
change from December), tied for 21st in assists (down from 13th in
December), 25th in penalty minutes (down from 21st in December),
ninth in shots (down from fourth in December).

GOALTENDING STATS HIGHLIGHTS
****************************

After turning his game around in December, Potvin continued his
stellar play in January. In twelve games, (716 minutes), Potvin
earned a 9-3-0 record, and allowed 24 goals on 330 shots, good for a
solid 2.01 goals-against average (GAA; up from 1.77 in December), and
a .927 save percentage for the month (up from .922 in December).

Potvin ended January ranked 18th in GAA (way up from 36th in
December), and 24th in save percentage (way up from 49th in
December).

Storr appeared in just two games (118 minutes). He earned a 2-0-0
record, and a miniscule 1.02 GAA (up from 2.02 in December), to go
along with a .965 save percentage in January (up from .927 in
December).

Storr has not appeared in enough games to qualify for NHL goalie
rankings.

The Kings' .909 team save percentage (up from .900 in December), ties
them for ninth in the NHL (up from 16th in December).

The Tampa Bay Lightning are ranked first, with a .925 team save
percentage.

The Washington Capitals are ranked last, with a .895 team save
percentage.

POWER PLAY:      The Kings are ranked fourth on the power play (no
                 change from December), with an 18.9% rating.

                 The Detroit Red Wings have the best power play, with

                 The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim are last, with an 11.9%

                 (up from 50.9% in December).

                 The Carolina Hurricanes lead the NHL, with a 55.4%
                 rating.

                 The Nashville Predators are ranked last, with a
                 45.6% rating.


BLOCKED SHOTS:   LA is ranked 16th in blocked shots (down from 16th
                 in December), averaging 11.8 blocked shots per game
                 (up slightly from 11.7 in December).

                 The Kings have blocked 624 shots in 53 games.

                 In January, the Kings blocked 177 shots in 14 games,
                 an average of 12.6 blocked shots per game (up from
                 10.5 in December).

                 The New York Rangers lead the NHL, blocking an
