Kingshockey.com learned on Wednesday that the Los Angeles Kings are expected to place goaltender Dan Cloutier on injured reserve due to a hip injury.

Cloutier underwent an MRI on Wednesday, but the results have not been announced.

Goaltender Mathieu Garon, who suffered a groin injury on November 29, is expected to be activated from injured reserve. He participated in his first full practice with the team today.

Cloutier’s injury is not related to the left knee injury and resulting surgery that forced him to miss all by thirteen games last season with the Vancouver Canucks.
